The Kidde Smart WiFi Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Detector, Alexa-Enabled, Hardwired with Battery Backup, Voice and App Alerts, model P4010ACSCO-WF, uses photoelectric sensor technology to detect visible fire particles, associated with smoldering fires, and alerts you by sounding an 85-decibel alarm with voice alert that announces “Fire! Fire!” or “Warning! Carbon Monoxide!”. The Kidde Smart Hardwired Combination Alarm connects to your home’s wiring using standard 120V AC power voltage and provides battery backup in the event of a power outage. The built-in lithium backup battery lasts the full 10-year life of the alarm, so you’ll have the benefit of never having to replace a battery. The Kidde app provides real-time, up-to-date notifications so your family and friends (even your pet sitter) can monitor your home’s air quality and receive alerts about the presence of smoke or CO, high humidity levels that can lead to mold, unexpected high or low temperatures, or total volatile organic compounds (TVOC). Setup is easy—simply download the Kidde app and scan the QR code on the back of the combination alarm. You can also use voice commands to check the connection and status of carbon monoxide or air quality when paired with Amazon Alexa, Google Home, and select iPhone and Android smart devices. The ring-shaped LED light indicator alerts you to the unit’s operating status: red = smoke, fire, or danger, amber = operational error, and green = normal operation. The Test-Hush button silences temporary nuisance alarms, tests if the unit is working properly, and silences a low battery or end-of-life beep (up to 24 hours at a time for up to 7 days).
