This easy-to-use unit incorporates onboard pin authentication with AES XTS 256-bit hardware encryption. The unit is FIPS 140-2 Level 3 validated to meet US government standards for information security. FIPS validation certifies 11 areas of cryptographic security, including physical security, cryptographic key management, and design integrity. The AEGIS Secure Key 3Z was designed to work with the AEGIS Configurator. This application allows the administrator to configure 10 or more drives at a time and automatically format program features/programs such as administrator and user pins, pin lengths, forced user enrollment, read-only mode, brute force protection configuration , formats drive and files securely and files securely on the drive during setup. The Aegis Secure 3Z key is the most versatile encrypted drive available. It is software-free and operating system agonist, so it works with any system. The unit has a rechargeable battery that allows it to be authenticated and unlocked before it is connected to its host. This onboard authentication eliminates all keylogger/malware software tactics. None of your critical security parameters are shared with the host. The unit can be configured with standalone user and administrator pins, making it ideal for corporate and government deployment. If the user forgets their PIN, the administrator can reset it for them without deleting the content on the drive. The AEGIS Secure key further protects data with a programmable “brute force hacking mechanism” that removes the encryption key and destroys data if an incorrect PIN is entered more than the programmable limit is set to allow.
